Is it safe on braids, locs, and protective styles?

Yes, and it is one of the better uses for it. Two or three passes reaches the scalp under a style without needing to take it down, and the sage and aloe base is soothing on a scalp that has been tight for a week.

Will it make my curls frizzy or crunchy?

No. It contains no alcohol and no hold polymers, so there is nothing to leave a cast or a crunch. Broccoli seed oil provides the slip that silicones usually provide, which is what lets a comb move without drag.

Does it define curls or just hydrate?

Primarily hydrate. Curls do lift back into shape when they rehydrate, so you will see definition return on a second- or third-day style — but this is a moisture product, not a styler, and it will not set or hold a pattern.

Will the oils separate in the bottle?
